i find it extremely creepy that someone did a google search for "date rape drunk pictures" and found my site. the discription sounds like someone was drunk and date raped nosferatu and has pictures to prove it.

this is kinda funny. i haven't really been keeping up with the onion too much since my last job.

i've been trying to place the singer of the vogue's voice. i've come to the conclusion that it's strikingly similar to jackée harry from lots of bad movies and sitcoms. i know 2 people that agree with me.

on the news last week there was a story about some neighbors who called the police about their next door neighbor who they thought was in trouble cos they hadn't seen or heard from the woman who lived there for a few days. when the cops arrived, they found the woman on the floor, not breathing, and apparently dead. she was put in a body bag and taken to the morgue for an autopsy. sometime later that night she awoke in the body bag hysterical. she was alive after all. in related news...

i think i saw the movie fight club in seattle the week it was released. i went with my friend lucian and we both walked out of the movie thinking it was pretty bad and lacking substance. it seemed that we were the only two people on the planet (at least with the people we knew) who really thought the movie was bad. did i just miss something when i saw it or were my testosterone levels low for some reason that night, not allowing me to fully enjoy the experience of a big budget hollywood movie? i really don't think it was either one. i went into the movie looking forward to it - really thinking i'd like it. i thought se7en was a really good movie. i think brad pitt is a talented actor even if he is the handsomest man in the media. ed norton is one of my favorite actors, and helena bonham carter, *rawr!* - why wouldn't i like this movie? well, i saw it again last night at a friend's house on dvd to give it another chance and i found out a few things:

1. i still don't like this movie and my dislike has grown to hate.

2. the movie really thinks it's smart and is almost convincing until you realize what a vacuous piece of shit it is. tyler durden is supposed to represent what all men have lurking in themselves. apparently, all men have a poorly dressed, overly aggressive, anarchist with stupid looking glasses in us capable of assembling a group of weak minded jocks to act as a y2k monkeywrench gang who enjoy beating the shit out of one another. this "bad" half waits, like a genie in a bottle, for the other "normal" half's breaking point so that he can be released onto the world.

3. i am positive that fight club is the unedited directors cut of the limp bizkit video for "break stuff" - both have the same amount of depth to them.

4. the movie is an attempt to teach basic punk philosophy and ideals to mainstream people without getting it right...something like the punk character in summer of sam. it's like the 7th grader with the anarchy patch right next to the korn patch on their backpack. if anyone had half a brain they would realize before seeing the movie that gigantic corporations like starbucks and companies with the intent to make everything simple and conformist like the gap, old navy, and ikea are inherently wrong. will the people who didn't realize this stuff before going to the movie even think twice about it? probably not.

5. being so bored with the movie halfway through, i figured that the name tyler durden had to be an anagram for something. it was just that kind of movie. you know what? i got an anagram from it after a few minutes, "nerd turdley." i was quite satisfied with that and stopped trying to find others.

it's been a little while since my last entry. getting drunk on wine kind of gets me in the writing mood, so i guess that explains the spontaneity. there's a lot of catching up to do since i never posted about my christmas break and stuff. that seems like a good place to start.

the day after my last final, i attempted to wake up at 4 am to drive up north to visit my family in marin county. i didn't wake up 'til about 7 or something, but the drive up didn't take me very long at all and i decided to stop in berkeley to do some record shopping. oh, how i miss bay area record stores. after that i met up with my mom at work in san rafael and i followed her to my parents’ new house.

my parents just moved back to this town called bolinas that i'm sure no one's ever heard of. it's a weird, poetic, aging hippie, beach town that's really hard to find because the locals keep tearing down the signs that point you to bolinas because they don't want it being exploited by the yuppies that live in marin county. i grew up there (in poet robert creely's house, no less!) and went to school there till 4th grade and thought it was really boring because there were no movie theaters or anything cool there. i wasn't into trees. now i have a whole new respect for the place. seeing cows and fields of grass is such a nice change from l.a. my parents live on this cliff overlooking the beach and straight across the bay is san fancisco. beautiful view at night. it's an old house and gets fucking freezing at night, so at night there's heaters and a kitty at the foot of your bed to keep you warm.

i got to see most of my friends who were back from school for vacation, which was really nice. i also met andy and we went to lunch and got christmas presents for people and rejected an opportunity to take money from the atm acct. of someone who left their card in a machine. read about it on his page here. i saw dan a few times and we went record shopping and saw the hilarious state & main. after the show, when driving back to bolinas through san anselmo at 1:30 in the morning i got a $135 speeding ticket. fascists! that really sucks to someone who's a jobless, starving student. dan drove back with me to l.a. to spend new years with natolee and me and to see his ex-roommates. i think bay area traffic is worse than anything in l.a. and we got stuck in the middle of it since we left late. driving through places like livermore and dublin in the east bay remind me why i never traveled further east than berkeley when i lived in marin. while driving miles and miles through the wretched smells of slaughtered cows courtesy of harris ranch, dan coined the term cowschwitz. that's comedy.

new years was pretty fun. natolee, dan, and i went to brett's house. brett graciously gave me my first shot of absinthe. i think my chest is still recovering from the burning liquid. i'm a wuss though. brett's band, the sophisticates and the von steins played in his garage until ten something when the cops showed up. at twelve, the neighbors waved their guns in the air like they just don't care a fired off a few rounds, scaring me. after the party we went to denny's and dan got hit on (he really can't go anywhere without being hit on. not to coffee, nothin'.) sometime during dan's stay, all three of us played endless rounds of you don't know jack while we sharing a rather large bottle of mandarin vodka. mostly dan and i drank since natolee had to drive later. way too much alcohol for noah. i embarrassingly sang germs songs over the phone to one of dan's friends at 2 am and sincerely apologized when we went to lunch the next day in silverlake. while driving to the restaurant we passed danzig's house. 2 cherry red camaros in the driveway of his iron gate surrounded property, rad.
