this weekend the food network had a marathon of the greatest show i've ever seen, iron chef. i got natolee addicted to it too.

nedstat statistics for shiftless.

total number of pageviews: 1003.

this site has been viewed a thousand times! that is amazing to me. you're all invited to my house for thanksgiving to have (un)turkey and mashed potatoes.

my new favorite joke:

what's the difference between sub pop and the titanic?

the titanic went down with at least one good band.

i went to benway records in venice on thursday and two of the big brother people, brittany (brittney?) and eddie came in. he bought a dido cd with some of his million dollars. speaking of money, i'm collecting unemployment while i go to school. hooray for the government.

i wind up spending way too much money when i'm between jobs and that's bad.

right now i'm listening to this badly drawn boy cd. it's good. i traded in some cd's from work and got that and the american beauty dvd.

the internet should be more than it is...i'm bored.

i'm really looking forward to friday.

natolee told me about this guy who was the musical guest on conan last night called badly drawn boy and she said i'd like him. a few minutes on napster and i low and behold, she's right. he's like a cross between the cure and jon brion...or something like that.

so this is my last day at work. i'm not really sad about it or anything, i'm actually looking forward to having some time off for a little while. hopefully i'll be doing clerical work at school and making more money than i'm making here in a couple weeks.

oh, the 2000 darwin award winner has been announced. the darwin awards are named in honor of charles darwin, the father of evolution and commemorate those who improve our gene pool by removing themselves from it. i personally think that this years winners should be the overemotional, aggressive, irrational gore supporters in my psychology class who feel the need to scream at me during break when i'm trying to have a calm conversation with them, but alas, they're still among the living. i guess it's easier to scream at someone when you know that the person you voted for is just as bad as bush on almost every issue and can't admit it to yourself. then when we returned to class we watched a video on how regular people were manipulated by hitler and jim jones. how appropriate.

"There is no such thing as a bad 40-year-old photograph." - Henri Cartier-Bresson

that's such a good quote. it's so true...have you ever seen a picture taken during the depression that wasn't good? i found it in an this article in salon about alfred kinsey who did studies on sexual behavior in the u.s. during the 30's through the 50's. we just learned about him in my psych class. now there's this book out called peek: photographs from the kinsey institute that looks really cool.

speaking of sexual behavior and photography, have you been to natacha merritt's site? wonderful, beautiful, amazing digital photography.

the company i work for is unable to get funding and i got an e-mail from my boss this morning telling me that i don't have a job after next week. he said it's temporary for everyone, but i think it's bullshit. i thought i was safe at least for another month or two, but i guess not. :/

Thursday, November 2, 2000 10:42 a.m.

ralph nader has a new, hilarious ad out parodying the monster.com ads. go here to watch it in real media and here to watch in windows media. don't let the democrats scare you into voting for gore! vote nader and you'll be voting for change and something bigger than just this election.
